The Woodaware Display Case gives firefighters a visual sense of what to expect with new Lightweight Construction techniques. As buildings are being torn down within our town, Lightweight Construction techniques are being used to build residential and commercial properties in our fire districts.
Wood product training display cases were developed as part of the U.S. Fire Administration (USFA) grant to AF&PA, now completed. The display cases provide industry product samples that will be used to enhance the building construction curriculum taught at the academies.
The case consists of the different types of woods, adhesives and miscellaneous products, as well showing what trusses and I-Beams look like. All of these types of construction are used in Lightweight Construction.
